Hither
Rather a long time ago
More than a few centuries or so
If I wanted to convey "Come here!"
I would have spoke a different way
"Come hither, sir!" Is what I'd say
To make you come to me from over there
However this old English word
Wasn't only an adverb
But as an adjective it did denote
Something that was also near
As in "Goodness look at that deer
It's fallen hither this side of the mote!"
